Discovery Wins Gold after 11 Year Hiatus from High School Hockey

The Discovery Destroyers have not had a high school hockey team in 11 years. You would never say that after this weekend.

They hosted their first tournament in 11 years as well and won the gold medal on home ice on Sunday afternoon.

The perfect hosts that put off a great tournament for all teams involved who were all happy to be in historic Bonavista for the weekend.

The Destroyers won in the final against the Holy Heart Highlanders in a nailbiter of a game 4-3.

Goals by Isaiah Boyce, Riley Keough, Logan Piercey and Noah Butt.

Nathan O’Leary with 2 goals and Connor Mongiat Kelly with 1 for Holy Heart.

Ryder Brown won player of the game for his stellar job in net for Discovery.

St. Bon’s won the Bronze medal against the Laval Cavaliers 8-2.
